Two scholarships are awarded annually to City High School graduating seniors, one female and one male, who have been active members of the City High cross country team, have good academic standing and have been involved in other activities in school and in the community. The recepients are required to complete the Fall Cross Country season at their College or University. The 2011 recipients are Rebecca Rethwisch and Isaac DeJong.
One $500 scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from City High who has earned a Silver Cord for
community service. The 2011 recipient is Bryan Martin.
This scholarship was established by an anonymous donor to provide one annual scholarship to an outstanding City High graduate. The 2011 recipient is Bryan Martin.
Two $500 scholarships are awarded annually to two graduating seniors – one from City High and one from West High – for outstanding community service.
The 2011 recipients are Dan Minchk (City High) and Saranya Subramanian (West High).
Organized by the Districtwide Parents Organization, this annual campaign raises funds for scholarships to be given to high school seniors planning a career in education. This scholarship fund was established in 1954 in memory of Kate Wickham, who taught in the Iowa City schools for many years. Since then, over 300 students have shared more than $75,000 in scholarship awards. Donations of any size are appreciated. With each donation of $50 you may honor a teacher, administrator or volunteer who has contributed in some special way to furthering education within the Iowa City Community School District.

The 2011 DPO Educational Scholarship recipients are Caitlin Clougherty (City High), and Saranya Subramanian (West High).
Two annual scholarships are provided for post-secondary study to student athletes from City High and West High, who are deserving of assistance. The 2011 recipients are Ryan Maske (City High) and Katelyn Kelley (West High).
One $500 scholarship is awarded annually to a City High music student exemplifying the spirited involvement and personal qualities of Christian A. Green. The 2011 recipient is Colin Berry.
One $500 scholarship is awarded annually to a City High student who is a member of the Ambassador’s Club. The award is in memory of Margaret Dane Hansen, a City High School graduate and longtime teacher. The 2011 recipient is Nicholas Beckman.
One $500 scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating senior from West High School who plans to attend the University of Northern Iowa to be a teacher. This scholarship is in memory of David and Marilyn Kanellis. The 2011 recipient is Kristin Eckman.
One $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from City High who will pursue the study of string music (including piano) in some fashion in college. 2012 will be the first year this scholarship will be awarded.
This scholarship was created in 2000 with an initial contribution from Mike Mueller (City '73) in honor of City High Track Coach John Raffensperger. In 2010 the ICCSD Foundation assumed management of this fund. This award is given to a member of the City High Boys Track team exhibiting good academic standing, community service and citizenship.
The 2011 recipient is Bobby Millard.
This scholarship, in memory of Kathy Riddle, is awarded to a graduating senior who is a member of the City High Girls Basketball program and is of good character and academic standing. The 2011 recipient is D'Esence Diaz-Doolin.
Two annual scholarships are given to two senior students at City High who plan to continue their post secondary education and major in a business related field. This scholarship is in memory of Marjorie Anderson Smith, a self-made business woman who helped establish the First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Iowa City. The 2011 recipients are
Kelsey Coleman and Jack Kregel.
